watching …
watch you.
is that you?
laced your fingers
into mine
mouths traced by tongues
thousand years ago
cannot seem to
tear this glance away
eyes locked like
fortresses, doors propped open
to the sunlight
alien birdsong, unfamiliar fruit
and the breadth of your hands
begin this way, texture
I remember something …
glassy, colored like clay
recognition – smile
no one sees this union
centered, full-circle
wish to step through this
… and I do – ancient company
is that you?
